Deals and payments
Who is paying, for what, and how does it relate to the client? AMLUM is designed to connect a payment with the deal and its circumstances. This supports client review; it does not predict whether a partner will pay.
Illustrative story
Client A is buying equipment for its premises. Person B represents it. Payment is planned in cash. Explore this illustrative deal from three perspectives.
In focus: the buyer and the person representing it.
In focus: equipment for the premises explains the business purpose.
In focus: the cash payment and its context.
Client A is the buyer. Person B represents it. Company information and the representative’s authority concern different roles in the same deal.
Explore people and rolesThe equipment is intended for the client’s premises. This purpose gives the payment business context; relevant evidence helps support that explanation.
Connect facts and evidenceThe planned cash payment raises questions about source of funds and the required process, depending on the circumstances. It does not predict whether the client will pay.
How AML risk is assessedPeople, purpose and payment together show what to ask next in an AML review.
The transaction itself
The same amount can involve a different purpose or participant. Where relevant, you also need to understand the source of funds and connection to the client.
AMLUM is designed to keep those circumstances with the deal. Information about funds does not establish creditworthiness or guarantee future payment.
Illustrative case
A cash transaction needs the client, purpose and circumstances alongside it. Specific obligations depend on the country, activity and transaction value.

Known informationThe relevance and usability of the information matter
ContextThe record gives the assessment its context; it does not determine the risk conclusion on its own.
The client and payment method are known, but the payment’s economic connection to the transaction has not yet been substantiated. That gap needs to stay visible.

Missing informationAn optional file does not replace assessment of the facts
ContextThe methodology and circumstances determine what information and action are needed. Missing information does not imply low risk.

Ongoing review
A different representative may call for a fresh check. Compare the earlier position with the change to see what needs another look.
Illustrative timeline · a change of authorised representative
The example records a new person acting for the client. The original supporting material remains part of the history.
New information prompts review; it does not automatically approve the change.
Supporting material is added for the change. An authorised person assesses whether it can be relied on and records its implications for the case.
The history should explain what changed and how it was addressed.

This does not promise continuous database monitoring. Sources and how changes are obtained will be confirmed against verified scope.
In the described design, attaching a file to a payment is optional. The need to substantiate a particular fact depends on the case and applicable workflow. A file does not establish the truth of its contents, and uploading it does not imply automated reading or classification.
Unavailability must remain distinct from a negative screening result. An authorised person needs to know what is missing and what the rules and circumstances require next. A condition requiring a particular action must not disappear into an aggregate assessment.
